About William Hughes, DDS
Dr William N. Hughes has dedicated his life to his patients and the community that he serves. Dr Hughes was Born in Seattle, Washington yet lived in Burleson, Texas for many of his happy childhood years. Dr Hughes attended the University of Washington and graduated with honors with a bachelor of science in Biochemistry. After several years in pharmaceutical drug research and community leadership volunteer work, Dr Hughes knew that his career was missing the overwhelming desire to help people, and began his pursuit towards a career in dentistry. Dr Hughes received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, where he achieved highest academic honors and served as Vice President of the Class of 2001. After dental school, Dr Hughes served as a dental officer in the US Navy during Operation Iraqi Freedom as the dental department head on the USS DUBUQUE LPD-8 overseas. During his Naval tour, he received several awards for his hard work and dedication during wartime, including the coveted Navy Commendation Medal, which is presented for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service. Following his Naval Tour, Dr Hughes practiced 7 years in Sacramento, California. During this time, Dr Hughes dedicated his life to the constant pursuit of perfection of his dental skills in all areas of cosmetic and general dentistry. One of his greatest accomplishments in this area was the perfection of his skills in CEREC dentistry, which allows the dentist to digitally scan, design, mill and deliver all porcelain crowns and veneers in less than an hour. As an expert in this technology since 2005, Dr Hughes has successfully treated thousands of patients and trained countless doctors/technicians in dozens of moderate to advanced courses. Missing the Texas that Dr Hughes experienced from his childhood, he sold his practice and made the pleasant move to Austin, enjoying the people, culture and lifestyle that Austin has to offer. As a loyal and contributing member to Austin, Dr Hughes has dedicated his life to his patients and the community of Austin. Dr Hughes believes that a patient deserves to be treated with individuality, dignity and sensitivity. Dr Hughes believes that everyone deserves a healthy mouth, a beautiful smile and makes it his mission to provide this for all. Dr Hughes delivers these services with the utmost precision and a gentle touch. Dr Hughes enjoys all aspects of dentistry yet his favorite is the ability to restore his patients with an amazing smile time and time again. He enjoys reading, computers, hiking, biking and many other outdoor activities that Austin and Texas has to offer.
