About Thien H. Vu, DDS, MAGD
Dr. Vu received her dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She then went on to complete her General Practice Residency at UCSF-Fresno University Medical Center in Fresno, CA. Upon completion, she entered private practice and volunteered with the United Way Foundation in Florida. She became the first dental director for the Citrus County Public Health Dept. in Inverness, FL. She trained with multiple dental and medical organizations for adult sedation and hypnosis. Furthermore, she completed her pediatric sedation mini-residency at the University of Florida, Gainesville. She has also studied at the following universities and societies: Loyola University Medical Center, Dental Organizations of Conscious Sedation (DOCS), American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Her clinic in Florida received the American Academy of Pediatrics Healthy Kids Tomorrow grant of $250,000 to start a sedation clinic for kids with high fear, physical disability, mental illness, or too young to comprehend dental treatment. She worked with the indigent population to increase dental health awareness and provide access to dental care. Continuing in her strive to help young people, she is an advisor to the Northern CA Academy of General Dentistry (NCAGD), working with both dental schools in S.F as a Fellow Track advisor, and mentoring young dentists and even older dentists wanting to try something new.
