About Ryan S. Lee, DDS
Dr. Ryan S. Lee is our in-house general dentist who places implants and performed the related surgeries. He is a Dental/Oral Oncologist who provides customized dental and oral care for cancer patients before, during, and after treatment (e.g., chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and stem cell/bone marrow transplants). He is passionate about the unique needs of this special patient population. He underwent specific postgraduate clinical and research training to focus on the special needs of cancer patients. Dr. Lee provides pre-cancer therapy consultations, post-cancer management of oral complications, Survivor Smiles! treatment, and oral medicine services. He also provides general & cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, implant & reconstructive dentistry, and sedation dentistry. His clinical expertise involves adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients, both in the dental chair and in the operating room. Dr. Lee obtained his clinical Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at New York University, graduating with Honors. He was the recipient of the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award and was a 2-time recipient of the President's Service Award. Subsequently, he underwent residency training in hospital dentistry at Jersey City Medical Center (Jersey City, NJ), an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York, NY). He received rigorous training on the management of oro-facial trauma and dental treatment of medically-complex individuals. He later completed a 2-year Fellowship in Dental Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York, NY), one of the world's leading cancer hospitals. His clinical research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented in both international and national medical and dental societies. He also studied health administration and public health at Harvard University and A.T. Still University, and is currently completing a Doctorate in Public Health (Dr.P.H.) at City Univ. of New York, Graduate Center. His undergraduate degree obtained at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL). For the past 3 years, Dr. Lee has been serving the nation as Captain in the United States Army - New York Army National Guard, as a Dental Officer. In 2012, he had the privilege of visiting the White House, meeting the Surgeon General, and lobbying with political leaders as the sole dentist representative of the Army National Guard. In service to his community. Dr. Lee travels to Haiti and Northeast Asia 2-3 times a year to lecture at medical/dental schools, as well as to provide free dental care for the underserved. He is a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church (New York, NY), Reah International (a non-profit committed to innovative projects in North Korea), and For Hope International (a 501(c)(3) charity committed to sustainable health improvement in Haiti).
