About Rodney J. Thornell, DMD
Dr. Rodney Thornell has always enjoyed working with people and had a special interest in the sciences. “Initially I wanted to be a family therapist, but once I started observing with my dentist I fell in love with it!” Dr. Thornell graduated from dental school at the University of Louisville, a top 10 school for dentistry that focused on a family friendly environment. “I hold the school in very high regard and when needed I’ll refer my patients to other Louisville-trained doctors, because I know they are skilled and professionals in the dental field.” Dr. Thornell loves spending his free time with his wife and four children. Together, they enjoy water skiing, camping, and playing with the family’s Golden Retriever. When he’s not at work, Dr. Thornell is often still providing dental care. Through a number of missionary programs and through the Give Kids a Smile Program, Dr. Thornell donates free dental services to children who are in need of dental care but whose families can’t afford to pay for it. He also spends time supporting the local Boy Scouts. In the future, Dr. Thornell would like to travel with missionary programs, donating his services to bless the lives of many more families to come. Although all medical professionals are required to continue their education beyond their degrees, Dr. Thornell spends fifteen times the national average on continuing his education. “In order to be the best, you have to learn from the best. There is always some scientific advancement, new materials, and new techniques. Through my education, I find a better way of doing something that is more effective and lasts longer. My work keeps getting better, and that’s better for you.” You’ll also find advanced technology and equipment in Dr. Thornell’s practice. As the field of dentistry evolves and changes, Dr. Thornell invests in the most advanced equipment to give you the best care possible.
