About Joy Collier, DDS
Dr. Collier originally thought she wanted to become a dental hygienist, but after just a couple of days of training chairside as a dental assistant, she realized that becoming a dentist in her own right seemed like a great career fit for her. She applied to two schools, was accepted into her first choice, and the rest is history! Today, she still strongly feels that she made the right decision. Working as a dentist is an amazing career for women and mothers, she feels, and it gives her plenty of quality time with her kids. After moving to California from Muskegon, Michigan, she began working on her undergraduate degree at San Jose State University, Dr. Collier was granted early admission to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. She graduated in 2002 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Today, she has been practicing for over 15 years, having cared for patients in several different locations like Virginia Beach and Washington State before finally arriving in the sunnier, warmer climate of Arizona. Dr. Collier regularly pursues additional advanced training at Spear Education, which is a renowned center in Scottsdale that provides top-tier coursework from a highly respected faculty. She has earned certifications in Invisalign Clear Braces and laser therapy. She has also focused on CEREC and cosmetic dentistry for her continuing education. She has been nominated multiple times as a Top Dentist by Phoenix Magazine in the Cosmetic and General category. At home, Dr. Collier has two beautiful daughters who are the true lights of her life. They do all sorts of activities together in her free time, including going to basketball games, volleyball games, and the theatre. She also enjoys hanging out with her dog, swimming, exercising, and traveling to relaxing beaches in the Caribbean. Additionally, she has started learning to play golf.
