About John G. Rassias, DMD
I hope you will take a few moments to get familiar with me, my philosophy and my general and cosmetic dental practice in Avon By the Sea, NJ. I have dedicated myself to creating a practice that is unique and exceeds the expectations of my patients. I think first and foremost the reason I enjoy this profession is because I enjoy people. Getting to know my patients helps me to truly understand their needs. I like to listen. I think that is something that patients need. To be heard. I feel many patients find a home at my office after leaving another office that they felt didn’t listen. To me that is a very important starting point. My passion is technology. I love it. Every year I try to add a new piece of technology to the office. Technology is constantly changing and it is an exciting aspect of modern dentistry. I find technology to be a lot of fun. Patients really seem to enjoy it was well. The great thing about it is it allows me to do a better job, treat patients faster and more efficiently and to offer a fun experience. Let’s face it. Dentistry to many is a frightening thought. I feel technology helps. Whether it be fabricating esthetic crowns in office to eliminate temporaries and lab time or intraoral photography to offer patients a virtual stroll through their mouths, it makes for an experience that can be fun, comprehensive and comfortable. My idea of an ideal practice is one that welcomes our patients as if they were coming into our own home. I want patients to feel welcome. My staff is absolutely wonderful. They are friendly and warm and caring. Each member of my team was carefully selected to be a part of my office. We are a true family together. Our patients are part of that family as well. Our practice philosophy is a shared philosophy. And feedback from our patients certainly supports that ideal. Just a little bit more about me. I grew up in New Jersey and completed all of my education in New Jersey. Education is very important to me. I am constantly taking continuing education courses. Currently, I am studying with the Spear Education Center in Scottsdale, Arizona to advance my dental education. But family is just as important to me. That is why I chose Avon By the Sea, NJ as the ideal place for me to practice. Here I get to enjoy the beach and ocean and all that there is to offer with my family. I am only minutes from home and spending time with my wife and daughter is a priority to me. Here, I enjoy the best of both worlds. Dr. Rassias is a graduate of UMDNJ- NJ Dental School in 2001. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers, The State University in New Brunswick, NJ. Throughout his education, his academic excellence earned him enrollment into several honor societies, including Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Society, Golden Key Honor Society and National Honor Society. After graduation, Dr. Rassias chose to further his education at a General Practice Residency post grad program at JFK Medical Center and continues to further his education to this day through continuing education courses and programs. Currently, Dr. Rassias is studying under the direction of the Spear Education program (Scottsdale, Arizona), a program led by acclaimed prosthodontist, Frank Spear. Dr. Rassias strives to stay on top of the latest innovations in dentistry. Examples include training in techniques such as Invisalign® (a clear alternative to wire braces), Lumineers® (an alternative to traditional veneers which minimizes injections, drilling, etc.) and contemporary techniques in root canal therapy, including rotary instrumentation. In addition, Dr. Rassias has introduced some of the best types of dental technology into his practice.
