About Jeff S. Tan, DDS

Dr. Jeff Tan, DDS, Ph.D., our dentist, was born in Kaoshiung, Taiwan and immigrated with his parents to Houston at the age of eight. Raised in the city’s suburbs, Dr. Tan attended Rice University for his college studies where he majored in Biochemistry and was graduated Magna Cum Laude for his scholastic accomplishments. Afterward, he initially pursued a scientific research career by matriculating at the University of California, Berkeley as a graduate student, which culminated in the award of a Doctor of Philosophy in 2004. After working as a professional scientist for several years and publishing prolifically in top-tier journals, Dr. Tan felt his true calling was in dentistry and therefore effected a career change through a rigorous dental education at the University of California, Los Angeles for four additional years. After graduation, he worked in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for two years mastering and honing his skills as a clinical dentist before deciding to come back to his hometown to settle and establish Spring Complete Care Dentistry of Spring, Texas in April, 2014. In his free time, Dr. Tan enjoys a variety of outdoor and indoor activities ranging from weight training, hiking, and traveling to model-building, stamp-collecting, and socializing with friends and family. As a result of his unique background and training, Dr. Tan has native fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin), as well as possessing a distinctive blend of clinical and analytical skills as a dentist.
