About Emily V. Le-Saab, DDS
Dr. Emily Le-Saab received her Bachelor of Science from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. At MIT, she studied biology and writing & humanistic studies while conducting research in medical genetics. Dr. Le-Saab earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at The University of Texas Houston Health Science Center. There she published her work in the Journal of Medical Genetics and received several notable honors, including the American Association of Dental Research Fellowship Award, a grant from the National Institutes of Health, and the UTHHSC Committee on the Status of Women Travel Award for research. Dr. Le-Saab was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised in Houston. The daughter of a NASA engineer and a financial analyst for the MD Anderson Cancer Center, she grew up in both technology and healthcare. Dr. Le-Saab’s passion for dentistry began early in high school, when she started working for a family dentist. After shadowing her college mentors and advisors in the operating rooms at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the clinics of MIT and Harvard Dental School, she was determined to pursue her career in advanced dentistry. Dr. Le-Saab is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society. Her extensive background in science and technology has given her a strong foundation for the evolving field of dentistry. She studies postdoctoral education at the forefront of advanced dentistry and comprehensive care. Dr. Le-Saab is also committed to community service in health care and youth groups both locally and around the world. She is active in the MIT Alumni Club of South Texas and serves as an educational counselor for MIT and a mentor to local students. She also participates as a sponsor for Operation Smile, The March of Dimes Foundation, and The University of Texas Community Outreach Program. Dr. Le-Saab’s home life revolves around her two children. As a family, they enjoy healthy living, fitness, arts, and community service.
