About David Thorup, DMD
Dr. Thorup is a native of the Salt Lake Valley and was raised in Sugar House for the first part of his childhood. He loves practicing dentistry, has always taken pride in the quality of his work and gains great satisfaction in helping people attain a healthy, beautiful smile. As a Dentist, Dr. Thorup focuses his efforts on achieving successful patient outcomes and understands that obtaining this goal starts with a deep fundamental understanding of each dental specialty. Dr. Thorup received a B.S. degree from the University of Utah and his D.M.D degree from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry where he received an award for the “Best of the Best Excellence in Prosthodontics”. He completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Utah, where he was trained by some of Utah’s top specialists in the areas of implant placement, root canal therapy, wisdom teeth removal, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Thorup is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Utah Dental Association. Dr. Thorup is an active volunteer in humanitarian dental missions. He has been a volunteer dentist with the “Rise and Rebuild Foundation”, an organization dedicated to helping people in the Philippines. In addition to dentistry, Dr. Thorup loves spending time with his wife and son. Dr. Thorup and his family enjoy kayaking, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and being a beach bum. In his spare time, Dr. Thorup likes to watch and play basketball, golf, and football.
