About Tom Shanakian, DDS
Dr. Tom Shanakian completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA in Psychobiology before continuing on to earn his doctorate degree from the prestigious UCLA School of Dentistry. Being the recipient of many scholarly accolades throughout his academic career at UCLA, Dr. Shanakian went on to complete a general dentistry residency (GPR) at Rancho Los Amigos in Downey, California, where he was the proud recipient of the coveted and rarely awarded Resident of the Year award. Being passionate about all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Shanakian has participated in various multi-year continuing educations courses and seminars such as Gnathos Orthodontics in Atlanta, Georgia, and The United States Dental Institute in Costa Mesa, California. Through these intensive courses and many years of dedicated clinical practice, Dr. Shanakian has acquired invaluable expertise and experience in all aspects of orthodontics. Furthermore, he has also garnered immense experience in dental implant and regenerative bone placement procedures through many years of lectures and clinical seminars at UCLA School of Dentistry and AIE (Advanced Implant Education).
