About Tariq Riyal, DDS
Dr. Tariq Riyal is a lifelong Chicagoan with a dedication to serving the communities he grew up in. Growing up to working-class parents, his family did not have the luxury of dental insurance and struggled to find a dentist that could adequately address all of their needs. It was this childhood experience that led Dr. Riyal towards the field of dentistry with the hopes of one day being able to provide high-quality, affordable dentistry to anyone who needs it. Dr. Riyal graduated from the acclaimed UIC College of Dentistry with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He has carried out his mission of high-quality, affordable dentistry throughout dental school and his career. As a student, he was the president of UIC's American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD), which worked tirelessly to bring free dental care to the homeless and low-income areas. Dr. Riyal’s fervent passion for education and continuous growth naturally put him as a leader in the dental and self-improvement fields. The desire to never stop learning lead Dr. Riyal to achieve a Masters of Public Policy (In-person classes) while practicing full-time at his practice. The Public Policy degree helped Dr. Riyal gain clarity as to the obstacles to providing and receiving proper healthcare. Miswak Dentistry has partnered with several community organizations and schools to help bring free dental care to the underserved and provide education, support and treatment to those who need it most. Dr. Riyal has served on the board of several local community health organizations. Dr. Riyal is constantly advancing his skills with extensive training in Implants, Oral Surgery, Cosmetic Dentistry and Invisalign, to name a few. An active member of the ADA, ISDS, CDS, AGD, and AAPHD, Dr. Riyal is dedicated to staying at the forefront of the dental field and being among the industry's leaders. “My goal is simple, I want every patient to feel like they are well-taken care of and are in great hands, from the phone call to the treatment to everything in between.”
