About Shalini Kamodia, DDS
Shalini is a founding partner at Mint Hill Smiles, a start up dental practice, in Mint Hill, NC. She recently moved to Charlotte from upstate NY where she was previously an associate at Gentle Dental Care in Vestal, NY. She completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Florida in 2016. Having pursued additional training in implant dentistry, she recently received her fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantology. She has experience treating TMJ disorders after her studies with the Dawson Academy of Occlusion and plans to further expand her skill set through continuing education as she works towards her fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Shalini received her D.D.S. from the University of Michigan in 2015. During her time there she joined Dentyzion, LLC, a dental technology and digital marketing consulting company. She did research on dental caries with Dr. Carlos Gonzalez-Cabezas and received the Dr. Ray Bowen Student Research Fellowship. Shalini received her B.S. from the University of Michigan, majoring in Cellular and Molecular biology. While at U of M she was involved in research with Dr. Eran Pichersky studying the volatile compounds produced by tomato plants to attract pollinators. She continued her research in food science working in the Food Safety Lab at Cornell University studying the seven gene MLST for Salmonella. Her interest in food transcended the laboratory and she ultimately spent one year completing a culinary arts certificate at the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan, New York.
