About Shahab Hashemi, DMD
After receiving my BS in Biology from University of Maryland in 1975, I entered University of Maryland at Baltimore, Department of Pathology for my doctorate in Pathology. My research involved heart disease and atherosclerosis. In 1980, because of my expertise in the area of the Electron Microscopy, an opportunity came up for me to join Hahnemann University and Hospital in Philadelphia to do research in the hottest topic of the time, the Legionnaires' disease. In 1982, I receive my PhD in the area of Ultrastructural Pathology from Hahnemann University and Hospital. While working there, in 1985 I started my dental education at Temple Dental School and received my DMD in 1989 and I have been in a private practice since then. I also joined United States Dental Institute in their five year program in Orthodontics and received my certificate in the TMJ, Orthopedics and Orthodontics in 1995. I enjoy treating and interaction with every one of my patients and maintain old values of personal care and compassion.
