About Michael Maya, DMD
Michael Maya has been practicing dentistry since 2013 in South Florida and New York City. Michael was born in North Miami Beach. He attended Scheck Hillel School from pre-k to middle school and then to Dr. Michael Krop for high school and graduated tops in his class. Dr. Maya’s college career started at the University of Central Florida where he majored in Biology and Psychology and received his Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to attend Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. While attending Boston University, he completed a ten-week externship at Miami VA Hospital treating veterans in all aspects of dentistry. After graduation, Dr. Maya relocated to New York to pursue postdoctoral training and completed a general practice residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn. He immediately moved back to Miami to start practicing in private practice for two years where he focused on Cosmetic and General Dentistry. The experience that he gained in Miami led him back to Manhattan where he treated a very fast paced and demanding population of patients in the Grand Central Station area. After a year and a half, Michael ultimately returned to his roots in Miami, bringing with him the work ethic and professionalism that is required in New York City. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and the North Dade Dental Society. He is currently participating in many local study groups in order to further in knowledge on the most advanced dental procedures.
