About Megan A. Shelton, DMD
Dr. Megan Shelton is proud to offer patients from Carlsbad, CA and surrounding communities the high quality dental services they deserve. At a very young age, Dr. Shelton decided she wanted to find a career that combined the medical and business skills that she saw in her family. At age 12, her family dentist suggested that dentistry might be the perfect field to combine business, medicine, problem solving, and hands-on care, all of which Dr. Shelton looked for in her ideal career path. Throughout her life, Dr. Shelton has had a number of mentors, but she considers Dr. Sheri Boynton Love of Wichita, KS as the person with the most profound impact on her career. A native of Wichita, Dr. Shelton completed her undergraduate degree work at Wichita State University and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Shelton is committed to continually growing and improving within the field of dentistry, and in order to do so, she completes hours of continuing education each year. Additionally, she maintains membership in a number of dental organizations and is certified in several advanced treatment options. Following the completion of her studies, Dr. Shelton moved to Carlsbad, CA, where she joined a dental practice and married her husband Nick. They have one gold retriever named Cali. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering in the community, taking photos, and traveling.
