About Matthew R. Vanderlaan, DDS
Dr. Matthew VanderLaan was born in Grand Rapids, and grew up in Kentwood. After graduating from East Kentwood High School in 2001, he earned his Bachelor in Science degree in 2005, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009, both from the University of Michigan. Dr. VanderLaan spent the first three years of his career working at a community clinic, serving Medicaid and Welfare patients. He then purchased a long standing practice from Dr. George Cripps and began VanderLaan Family Dentistry May of 2012. The office moved from its original office of 45 years in Cutlerville, to the new, state-of-the-art facility located in Byron Center in December of 2014. Dr. VanderLaan is committed to providing his patients with the most personalized and comprehensive care possible, and does so by actively pursuing the continuing education in all areas of dentistry. Dr. VanderLaan currently resides in Byron Center with his wife, Dana, and his children, Brooke, Jenna, AJ, and Nora. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and West Michigan District Dental Society. He has also had advanced technical training at the Kois Center, a world renowned training center for dentists.
