About Letitia Plummer, DDS
Dr. Letitia Plummer is dedicated to making her patients feel special, saying, ""Everyone is entitled to a beautiful smile. I always thought that if I could make someone smile with confidence, I could change their lives.” Nothing makes her happier than helping a patient feel better both inside and out, and she’s always willing to go above and beyond your typical dentist to ensure someone walks out of Maxwello Dental & Orthodontics feeling satisfied. Dentistry has been her lifelong passion, and you can learn a little more about her by reading on below.Since childhood, Dr. Plummer seemed predestined to become a dentist and create beautiful smiles for a living. “My dad is a dentist, and I worked with him since I was 12.” She literally grew up in a dental office, and she actually gets to practice right alongside her dad every single day now, as he’s still serving Houston families! After graduating from Spelman College in 1992, Dr. Plummer’s dental career took a brief detour. “I wanted to have some hands-on experience in management and staffing. You don’t get that kind of experience in dental school, so I started a company called Safe Hands. We sold latex gloves.” Eventually, Dr. Plummer enrolled in the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. After graduating in 1999, she started her own dental office in Pearland, and in 2010, she opened a second dental office in the historic Museum District of Houston. Both dental offices are conveniently located 15 miles from each other and offer general, cosmetic, orthodontic, endodontic and surgical procedures including dental implants and sedation. Dr. Plummer has also completed extensive training in cosmetic dentistry through continuing education and is certified in ClearCorrect, and sleep apnea therapy. Currently, she is pursuing a fellowship with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. ""I honestly love creating beautiful smiles,"" she says. ""A smile truly exudes confidence."" Dr. Plummer is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Association of Women Dentists, Greater Houston Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and she holds an administrative role with the Harris County Hospital District--Dental Division.Dr. Plummer has four amazing boys, and despite her busy business life, she still keeps her spirit balanced and her family first. Her success hasn’t insulated her from giving back to her community as well. “My non-profit organization is called Career Smiles. I work with other non-profits that have clients with cosmetic dental issues,” which she helps fix thanks to private funding and sponsorship.
