About Jonathon L. Samburg, DDS
Dr. Samburg’s brings a depth of experience gained over the course of 40+ years to New Haven Dental Group. His experience in both private and hospital settings allows him to develop comprehensive treatment plans for each patient to ensure the patient receives the best, most up-to-date solutions to achieve optimal health. Dr. Samburg attended Cornell University as an undergraduate and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He was a post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine supported by a National Institutes of Health clinical cancer training grant. Over the course of his career, Dr. Samburg has been affiliated with both Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Dr. Samburg maintains affiliations with the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Shoreline Dental Society. For 16 years, he was the dental consultant to the Connecticut Hospice in Branford and is currently the dental consultant to the Essex Meadows Health Center. . Although born in Indiana, Dr. Samburg grew up in Newton, MA and has made his home here in CT with his wife. Dr. Samburg is very active in community organizations including as a member of The Parents Advisory Committee of Valley Regional High School in Deep River, The Hopkins School in New Haven and The Williams School in New London. He was a member of two building expansion committees for the Essex Elementary School. In addition, as president of Congregation Beth Shalom-Rodfe Zedek, he created and participated in the building committee which built a new synagogue in Chester, CT. Since Dr. Samburg grew up just west of Boston, he is, of course, an avid Red Sox Fan. For fun, he enjoys rollerblading, gardening and downhill skiing, especially in Stowe, Vermont.
