About Jeffrey T. Oyama
Dr. Oyama was born in the San Fernando Valley, and attended William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, CA. He then spent 4 years at the University of California, San Diego, earning a bachelors degree in general biology. Following completion of his undergraduate studies, Dr. Oyama travelled back to Los Angeles where he earned his DDS degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry. Upon graduation, he then completed a one year general practice residency at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center where he provided dental care to patients with physical and developmental disabilities.Dr. Oyama continued his training in the three year, nationally recognized advanced prosthodontics program at UCLA, where he focused on advanced restorative, removable, and implant treatment. As a specialist, he then completed a one year fellowship at UCLA in maxillofacial prosthetics, working in conjunction with the Ronald Reagan hospital to provide dental care for patients diagnosed with cancer or suffering from congenital malformations. Dr. Oyama completed the rigorous 3 part board certification process of the American Board of Prosthodontics, and has achieved diplomate status. He currently maintains active memberships in the American College of Prosthodontics, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Oyama recently moved to Little Tokyo to be closer to the office and enjoys exploring many of the restaurants and places that Downtown Los Angeles has to offer.
