About Jason Skinner, DDS
As a child growing up in Alberta, Canada, and summering on his grandparent’s dairy farm in Idaho, Dr. Jason Skinner considered three career paths: Air Force pilot, park ranger, or dentist. Ultimately, it was his family’s close friend and childhood dentist that inspired him to choose dentistry. Jason always admired and respected the way his dentist took care of his patients. Dr. Skinner attended Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1996. One of Dr. Skinner’s favorite aspects of dentistry is that in dentistry’s ever-changing technology and techniques, there is always more to learn. The more training he receives, the more he wants to know. He loves studying the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry, implants, prosthodontics, oral conscious sedation, IV sedation, and orthodontics. His love of technology also keeps his dental office up-to-date with some of the best dental equipment on the market. He is a Fellow of International Congress of Oral Implantologists and completed a residency in dental implants at Whitecap Institute. Dr. Skinner lives in Holladay, Utah with his wife, Janae, and their five children. A self-professed nature lover, he enjoys snowmobiling, riding ATVs, backcountry skiing, hiking, camping, and fishing. Dr. Skinner reluctantly admits his favorite food is ice cream (don’t tell!). He loves the movie Braveheart and thinks Jimmy Fallon is hilarious. His favorite travel experience was to an uninhabited island in Tahiti where he hunted crabs, went spearfishing, and swam with sharks! In fact, he darn near lost a foot on that trip! If you ask him, he’ll gladly tell you the whole story!
