About James E. Locascio, DDS
Dr. James E. LoCascio attended Wayne State University for undergraduate work and then went on to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1981. Since then, he has continued to stay atop of the latest dental training and research to ensure his patients receive the highest quality care. He received advanced dental implant training at the Misch Implant Institute, holds a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (he’s the only member of the ICOI in Highland), and took courses in advanced restorative dentistry (including TMJ and bite issues) from the Pankey Institute for Continuing Dental Education. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. LoCascio is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is learning the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique from Dr. Chao, a gum recession treatment that is much less invasive and time-consuming than traditional surgical procedures to repair gums. Dr. LoCascio was the first general dentist in Michigan to be certified in this innovative technique. Dr. LoCascio began his career as a dental associate in Detroit before joining a group practice in Waterford, MI. However, he felt a group practice didn’t give him the freedom and flexibility to provide his patients the care they deserved, so he opened his own dental office in Waterford in 1997. He moved his practice to Highland 10 years later and has been in Highland Township ever since. Dr. LoCascio has practiced dentistry for over 37 years and estimates he has worked with more than 75,000 patients. He loves being able to help our patients get the smiles they have always dreamed of. When not working, he spends his time golfing, fishing, hunting, playing poker, and playing with his three grandchildren.
