About James Y. Chen, DDS
More than just an excellent dentist, with Dr. Chen you also have a great friend and oral health ally. His open and easy communication style both engages and educates his patients, while his sensitivity and genuine caring help even the most anxious of patients to feel at ease. Very early in his career, Dr. Chen made a commitment to keep up-to-date with the constantly evolving dental profession. For this reason, Dr. Chen routinely attends continuing education classes to learn about the most current technology, materials, and treatment options available to his patients. In addition, as an active member of a local dental association, Dr. Chen meets with other like-minded practitioners and specialists to discuss new techniques and challenges in the profession in order to maintain the highest level of competency. After Dr. Chen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1995, he furthered his education in Prosthodontics. He received advanced Prosthodontic training and master of science degree in 2001 from the University of Michigan. In the same year, Dr. Chen completed his implant training from the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Chen has had extensive training in cosmetics and many other aspects of modern dentistry. Dr. Chen is an active member of the Jackson District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
