About James N. Baum, DDS
Dr. Jim Baum earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Catawba College in 1977. He then went on to the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1981. Dr. Baum spent 3 years practicing dentistry with the US Army before joining the practice of Dr. Sam Woolwine in 1984. Dr. Baum recently retired as a full Colonel after 30+ years in the US Army Reserve Corps, having served overseas in both Iraq and Kosovo. Dr. Baum and his wife, Janice, have two adult children and three young grandchildren. They enjoy spending time on the James River in their spare time.
