About Fernando Juliao, DDS
Baltimore born and Baltimore educated, is the way I will start my story. I began school at St. Anthony's, before going to Calvert Hall, and then earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Loyola College. After a one-year rest, I decided on Dental school, and was fortunate enough to be accepted by Univ. of Maryland at Baltimore. My first educational experience away from Baltimore was in Utica, NY where I completed my hospital residency at ST. Luke's Memorial Hospital. My time in Utica was extremely productive, as it left me not only with ""dental expertise"", but also with friends that have nearly become part of my Family. I have always believed that the quality of a person is not only measured by what they do for a living; but what they have TRIED to do throughout out their life. During College I rowed CREW while working at the campus print shop. After College, I worked as a repair technician for Black and Decker while beginning to compete in Triathlons. This passion for competition has continued to follow me. During Dental School, I became a house-manager for three semi-independent mentally-handicapped men; while trying to improve my capacity with Triathlons. My 3 year stray from Baltimore, unexpectedly ended with a job offer; and found myself again a Baltimorean....quickly buying an old home and cementing my residency status as a Baltimorean, once again! I have now been living in Baltimore for the past 25 years; and for nearly 19 of those years, I had a private office in Chevy Chase, MD, while still still living in downtown Baltimore! Throughout the years, this commute became more challenging until 2017 arrives; and I (suddenly?) find myself with a wife and two children, and a 3rd one on the way. At this time, i was fortunate enough to meet Dr. William Kruel, who graciously confided to me the care of his patients, and his Office. My commute is now, about 20 minutes (as opposed to 1 hour and 45 minutes); and my boys are 8 and 5, and a baby-girl now prepares for her 1 year birthday in December 2018. Throughout the last 25 years I have trained in various creative arts that vary from glass-blowing/sculpture, custom-framing, reclaimed bottle sculptures, to restoring my 1885-built home in Bolton Hill. As in my former Dental Office in Chevy Chase, our current staff is the basis for any excellence in our office. Their assistance keeps our office ""reaching for the stars"", as we offer everything from the simplest of dental procedures (fillings, cleanings); to the most complex of dental procedures (implants, CAD/CAM single appointment crowns). We wish to exceed, not just meet, your expectations...in summary, we wish to help keep you OUT, of our office.
