About Faye E. Licata, DMD
Dr. Faye Licata has been in her location at Hilltown Village in Chesterfield since 1989. Dr. Licata knew since the age of 6 she wanted to be a dentist. The excitement of her first loose tooth as a child sparked her interest in dentistry, and she's liked teeth ever since! She grew up in DuQuoin, IL, a small southern town about 2 hours away from Chesterfield. She graduated from DuQuoin High School in 1980, and attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL from 1980-1984 where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. From 1984-1988 she attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL. She graduated from SIU-SDM with honors including the Academy of Oral Medicine Award and the American Association of Women Dentist’s Award. Dr. Licata had membership in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. She was awarded a Summer Student Research Fellowship in 1985 through SIU-SDM, and also completed a Private Practice Externship Program her senior year of dental school. Volunteer activities while in dental school included helping at the OASIS Women’s Crisis Center, organizing and participating in Children’s Dental Health Month screenings and education, and the SIU-SDM Admissions Committee. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Licata did a one-year dental residency at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in St. Louis, where she earned a Certificate in General Practice Residency. Dr. Licata served on staff at Washington University School of Dental Medicine during this year. After finishing her residency at the VA, she opened her private practice at Hilltown Village in Chesterfield on October 2, 1989. Her special dental interests include comprehensive treatment planning and patient care. Dr. Licata does all types of dentistry. She sees small children, adults, and seniors, giving true meaning to the concept of “family dentistry”. A patient can receive everything from large reconstructive cosmetic cases to preventive sealants and cleanings. A large portion of her treatment includes helping patients understand the origins of their dental problems so they can actively participate in preventing further problems from happening in the future. Dr. Licata has a special interest in helping people with dental anxiety, and takes great pride in making people feel good about their smiles and in achieving good dental health. Dr. Licata has long been interested in forensic dentistry, and is a member of MERIT (the Missouri Emergency Response Identification Team) since 1997. Dr. Licata is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, earning her Fellowship status in 1998. She has been a member of the Greater St. Louis Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, and the American Dental Association since 1988. Professional volunteer efforts include participation in the Give Kids a Smile Program since 2005 and in the Missouri Donated Dental Services program. Her office is friendly, efficient, and comprehensive—a patient will have a great understanding of the health of their mouth after a visit to Dr. Licata’s office.
