About Evan C. Adams, DDS
I am thrilled to carry forward Dr. Bruenjes’ legacy of high-quality, comprehensive dental care. I came to Houston in 1999 to attend Rice University, after growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. Houston has always been my second home – my mother graduated from Spring Woods High School and my family spent summers visiting my grandparents in Spring Branch, where they lived after my grandfather’s retirement from Chapelwood United Methodist Church. At Rice, I fell in love with Veronica Flores, a fellow student from the Rio Grande Valley; she became a great reason to stay in Texas after I graduated! We will celebrate our twelfth wedding anniversary this year. In my first career, I taught high school history at Barbara Jordan High School in HISD, and then taught in Bryan, Texas, and Columbia, Missouri, where Veronica and I lived while she attended veterinary school at Texas A&M and residency at the University of Missouri. When Veronica started vet school, I took a biology class so that I’d be able to understand what she was talking about when I helped her study. That class eventually sparked a career change for me. We moved to San Antonio for me to attend dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center. I was fortunate to discover that I’d found my calling, with a wonderful group of patients in the student clinic and several faculty mentors who were influential in my education. After I graduated summa cum laude from dental school, Veronica and I were excited to return to Houston. I have been practicing dentistry in the Cypress area for several years, and Veronica is a veterinarian in Houston. We spend most of our time outside the office playing with toy trucks and visiting playgrounds with our son Matthew, who just turned two. We attend St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
