About Eric J. Whidden, DDS
Dr. Whidden grew up in Ellington, Connecticut where he developed a very early interest in dentistry and dental esthetics. He completed a pre-medical course of study at Connecticut College, graduating with high honors and awards for academic excellence and community service. He has also won numerous Connecticut State Science awards for his innovative research in oral health. He then attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where he was class president and active in many leadership and volunteer activities. Dr. Whidden has received numerous honors and scholarships including the Elizabeth and Eugene C. Harrison Scholarship, Edmund J. Glen Fund Scholarship, American Dental Association Award of Excellence, Dentsply Award for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, and the International College of Dentists Scholar Leader Award. He graduated #1 in his class with Dean's High Honors and was one of fifty doctors nationwide to be inducted into the elite Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honors Society Supreme Chapter ? the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a dental graduate. Dr. Whidden has trained with nationally and internationally renowned cosmetic specialists at elite cosmetic dentistry centers including The Pankey Institute in Florida, The Spear Center for Cosmetics in Arizona, The Dawson Academy in Maryland, and The Kois Center in Washington, and has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in the areas of dental esthetics.
