About Edward G. Shaivitz, DDS
Dr. Edward Shaivitz is a native Baltimorean who grew up in the Mt. Washington area. He graduated from Baltimore City College High School where he played football and lacrosse. Dr. Shaivitz then graduated with honors from Rutgers university and received his dental degree from the University of Maryland Dental School. After graduating from dental school, he completed an internship at the world renowned Eastmon Dental Center. He practiced dentistry for four years before returning to the University of Maryland Dental School where he received his certificate in the specialty of prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with crown and bridge work, dentures, implants and cosmetic procedures. Dr. Shaivitz is also trained in Six Month Smiles, Invisalign (orthodontic treatments) and is an experienced provider of LANAP. LANAP is the non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease using a specialized laser. He is a certified LANAP regenerative specialist. Dr. Shaivitz has practiced dentistry for over 30 years in Laurel, Maryland. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Baltimore County Dental Association. He continues to attend courses to keep up to date on the newest techniques and the latest research. Dr. Shaivitz is married and has two children and four grandchildren. He enjoys sailing, exercising and watching his grandsons play basketball and lacrosse. He is an avid lacrosse fan.
