About Cheri Newman, DDS
Dr. Newman graduated from the University of Detroit in 1989 with a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. After five years of working as a dental hygienist and desiring to learn more, she returned to school, obtaining her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 1998. Since re-joining our practice as a dentist, Dr. Newman has striven to provide quality care in a patient-friendly environment. To consistently provide high-quality care, Dr. Newman frequently attends continuing education classes at the Pankey Institute, an organization providing advanced dental education on the latest in dentistry. In addition, Dr. Newman is an adjunct faculty member at her alma mater, the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Each year she facilitates dental students during a weeklong outreach program for disabled adults at Bay Cliff Health Camp located in Big Bay, Michigan. Dr. Newman has two daughters and one granddaughter and lives with her husband, Jim, in Shelby Township. She is active in both her community and church. When she does have a moment to spare, she enjoys kayaking, biking, walking, and traveling.
