About Chad Vanourny, DDS
Dr. Chad Vanourny is passionate about providing his patients with gentle, effective dental care that helps them develop great oral health and wonderful smiles. He is equally passionate about the relationships he develops with each patient, becoming friends with them over the course of treatment, sharing stories and laughter. He is adept at working with patients who have dental-related phobias and anxieties, providing reassurance and encouragement to help them work through their concerns and learn to relax and be comfortable while in his care. Dr. Vanourny does not judge his patients, but rather listens to them and assists them, allowing them to set the pace of their dental care. His approach brings peace of mind to his patients and allows them to learn to trust. In being trusted, Dr. Vanourny finds great reward, as he knows he has made a connection and been able to improve the life of his patient. Dr. Vanourny was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, one of the top dental schools in the United States. Upon graduating, Dr. Vanourny spent multiple years as an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry working with fourth year seniors in the general clinic. This degree has provided him with a firm foundation in the practice of dentistry. However, Dr. Vanourny knows it is essential that he stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and procedures in order to provide the most effective dental treatment possible to his patients. He pursues continuing educating offerings through the South Charlotte Study Club and takes courses at oral healthcare conferences and meetings. Born and raised in Iowa, Dr. Vanourny now calls Lake Wylie, SC his home. He and his wife, who is a dermatologist, have three young children: twin sons and a daughter. Their family also includes a dog, Chloe. While his family is his first priority, and he spends much of his free time playing with his children, Dr. Vanourny also enjoys running, biking, golfing, and cheering on the Hawkeyes. Believing in giving back to the community, Dr. Vanourny volunteers with Mission of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile, programs which provide dental care to the underserved and patients in need.
