About Terry Im, DDS
Dr. Terry Im is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, specializing in non-surgical and surgical maintenance of teeth and replacement of lost teeth with implants.At age seven, Dr. Im immigrated to the U.S. from Seoul, Korea with his family. He grew up in Fresno, CA and after completing Bullard High School with high honors, he entered undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At UCLA, he studied human and animal physiology and in 1998 received a B.S. in Biology. He continued his education at Cal Poly Pomona and finished a two year post-graduate program in Nutrition.In 2002, Dr. Im began his journey in the field of dentistry when he was admitted into the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry (UCSF). During his studies at the university, he was quickly recognized by his peers and faculty for his skills and dedication to the field. Impressed with the new techniques developed for saving teeth and technological advances in implants, Dr. Im became increasingly drawn to the field of periodontics. In 2006, after graduating from dental school at the top of his class, he gained admission to UCSF Periodontal Residency - a specialty program focusing on advanced surgical interventions for treatment of periodontal disease, cosmetic tissue reshaping, and replacement of missing teeth with implants. During the residency, Dr. Im was recognized for his leadership and teamwork and was elected chief resident two years in a row.
