About Sulakshana Sundaresan, DDS
As a teenager, I had orthodontic treatment and was absolutely amazed at the transformation. I always knew I wanted to be in the healthcare field, and this experience just pushed me toward dentistry. The idea of transforming people’s perception about themselves and their mouth was compelling to me, as was creating a healthy mouth-body connection. I like helping people get over their anxiety about dentistry and restoring the health of their mouth so they can function normally. I also enjoy cosmetic dentistry. It is truly special when a patient tells me how much they love getting photographed with their new smile. Prevention and routine care are the core values we try to impart to our patients. Patient education is an important part of all our appointments as we firmly believe that an informed patient is a healthier patient. As a pediatric and general dental practice, our office is pretty casual. Our team is fabulous in making our patients feel comfortable, and there is a lot of laughter in the office. We hope to give our patients confidence and knowledge about their teeth. I also enjoy working with anxious patients and helping them overcome their barriers to treatment. I try to understand where a patient’s fears come from so I can offset them and help them feel good about treatment.” On a personal level, Dr. Sue enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling and giving talks at the senior center in Yalesville.
