About Shweta Ujaoney, DDS
Dr. Shweta Ujaoney was born and raised in Nagpur, India. While in India, she completed her Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery as well as a Masters in Oral Diagnosis, Medicine, and Radiology before moving to the United States with her husband. Once in the U.S., she attended Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and received her DDS. Dr. Ujaoney completed a residency at Case Western Reserve University in their School of Dental Medicine. She is a member of the ADA, VDA, IAOMR, and IDA. Dr. Ujaoney has received many dental awards including the Dean’s List at VCU, the AD Williams Research Scholarship, the Endowed Scholarship, and was on the Scholarship Awards Committee at VCU. She also has patented the painless pediatric syringe design. She has several research publications to her credit. Dr. Ujaoney was first drawn to dentistry as a child. She did not like her smile as a child, so it made her recognize early on that a beautiful smile is a “great booster of self-confidence and among the best gifts you can offer to a loved one.” She thus wanted to contribute towards beautiful smiles for her patients as a dentist. Dr. Ujaoney’s favorite part of being a dentist is interacting with patients and understanding their needs. She likes to give individualized dental care to each patient she sees. Dr. Ujaoney is married to Tushar, a physician, and they have a five-year-old daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys oil painting and water colors, as well as clay modeling and nature walks. Dr. Ujaoney loves to paint and have won several awards for her work. She speaks three languages- English, Hindi/Urdu, and Marathi.
