About Reynolds Lawnin, DDS
Dr. Lawnin grew up on the north side of Houston, graduating from The John Cooper School. After high school, he left Texas and went to college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. While in Nashville, Dr. Lawnin obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a focus on biomedical engineering. It was these studies that led him to attending dental school at New York University. After receiving his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in New York, Dr. Lawnin decided to return home for a two-year residency at the University of Texas School of Dentistry and Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. During this residency, Dr. Lawnin treated patients of all walks of life, including complex patients like those who are hospitalized, head and neck cancer survivors, and special needs patients, using advanced dental techniques including conscious and IV sedation, complex full mouth rehabilitation, the latest in implant dentistry, and special patient care. After several years of ""reverse commuting"" to the Woodlands, Dr. Lawnin is excited to join Tanglewood Dental Associates. He is an active member in the Houston dental community, including memberships in the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Lawnin also maintains the title of Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas School of Dentistry where he serves as an attending for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry and General Practice residencies. Outside of the office, Dr. Lawnin constantly works on making Houston a better city. He serves on the Board of Directors for A 2nd Cup, a non-profit coffeeshop that aids the fight against human trafficking in Houston. He also serves as a leader at The Story Houston, a contemporary church within St. Luke's United Methodist, where he is heavily involved in Jubilee Prison Ministries. When not treating patients, Dr. Lawnin loves spending time with his beautiful wife, Brittany, learning about specialty coffee, and tinkering with his golf game.
