About Paul E. Dougherty, DDS
Dr. Paul Dougherty followed in the footsteps of his father to become a second-generation dentist. He is board-certified in dentistry with over 30 years of experience treating clients for all of their dental needs at his upscale La Jolla, CA office. His patients and his staff trust him, which is why many have been with him for decades. Dr. Dougherty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma before moving on to dental school at OU. He graduated with honors with his doctor of dental surgery (D.D.S.) degree four years later, then returned to La Jolla to begin his career. He completed a one-year fellowship program at the Veteran Administration in San Diego, CA, and he continues to learn about advancements in the field of dentistry by completing coursework each year and integrating new technology into his dental practice. Dr. Dougherty and his wife, Kelly, have three children: Ally, Jackson, and Avery. The family is very active in the La Jolla community, and they love supporting local businesses and charitable causes. Dr. Dougherty is an accomplished athlete, and his hobbies include cycling, skiing, and golf.
