About Mary A. Pittman, DMD
Dr. Mary Ann Pittman grew up in St. Petersburg, and attended our local public schools. She graduated as valedictorian of her class at St. Petersburg High School, and attended Oberlin College, graduating with a B.S. in biology. Encouraged by her family dentist and mentor, Dr. Mary Ann started her dental path at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, graduating in 1986. She returned to St. Petersburg to practice with her dental mentors. In 1990, she chose our current location for her dental practice home. In 2015, Dr. Mary Ann decided to reduce her work load, and after a brief search, found the ideal associate and protégé in Dr. Lauren Dupre. Dr. Mary Ann’s commitment to thorough, dedicated care of all the members of her patient family is the hallmark of her practice, and continues in her partnership with Dr. Dupre and their fine, caring staff. Active in the Pinellas County Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and American Dental Association since 1987, Dr. Mary Ann served as President of the Pinellas County Dental Association in 2003-2004. She served on the board of the PCDA, as well as the Florida Dental Association’s governing body for nearly 15 years. She is active in educating state legislative about dental issues, and travels to Tallahassee yearly to meet with our Pinellas Legislative Delegation to safeguard the dental health of our Pinellas community. In addition to her political advocacy, Dr. Mary Ann’s passion for her community’s needy inspired her to spearhead Pinellas County’s “Give Kids a Smile” dental outreach program for the underserved children in 2003. Helping guide this important program during its’ infancy, she’s watched the program grow into an immensely successful access to dental care hallmark. Dr. Pittman was recognized with a Distinguished Service Award by the Florida Dental Association for her work with Give Kids a Smile. In addition to her many volunteer hours with the dental association’s charitable programs, Dr. Mary Ann also provides charitable care for needy patients in her daily dental practice. On a personal note, Dr. Mary Ann is married happily to Steven Boldt since 1990, sharing a passion for dogs, family, art, travel, boating, and fishing. A lifelong bibliophile, a great book brings Dr. Mary Ann happiness. Together, the Pittman-Boldts enjoy collecting art and recently added a travel trailer to their set of hobbies. Lifelong dog lovers, they are the proud and challenged “parents” to their springer spaniel Ned.
