About John W. Faris, DDS
Spanning three decades of service to the Bixby Knolls area, Dr. Faris, III is a third Generation USC Dentist following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather who also practiced Dentistry in Long Beach. John Sr. came to town in 1919 and practiced in the old "Enloe" building at 1st and Pine on the 5th floor and his office was open up until his death in 1970. His front door was restored and is displayed in our reception room. John Jr. returned from WW II and moved to Bixby Knolls practicing along Atlantic in several locations from 1946 until his retirement in 1987. John III has maintained his practice in the current location at 3821 Atlantic since he and his Father moved there in 1972 and began the first of several re-models. The most current was the front "facade" provided by the city of Long Beach as part of the community redevelopment project giving the building its current look. Dr. formerly enjoyed golfing, sailing, jogging until an auto accident in 2005 when a foot injury precluded those activities. Activities more cerebral now occupy his time including Clive Cussler novels (over 16 this year). You may follow his tweets at USCSmiles.
