About James H. Nguyen, DMD
Growing up in a family of dentists and physicians, I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a dentist. My mother is a dentist and she taught me to draw at an early age. If she was able to do so much with just a pencil, I could only imagine what she was able to do for her patients as a dentist. Inspired by my newfound ability to replicate natural forms with my own hands, I began down a path that would ultimately lead to my journey as an artist and dentist. I pursued my passion for fine arts and natural sciences at the University of Florida where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture. I continued my education at the University of Florida College of Dentistry where I received a degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine. My passion for dentistry paid off, earning me awards for excelling in prosthodontics, esthetic and restorative dentistry, implantology, and receiving awards from the dental labs for the quality of my work, but this was only the beginning. I delved deeper into my passion of replicating the natural smile with a two year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency from the University of Florida in St. Petersburg. While attending this residency program, I completed postgraduate training at the esteemed Dawson Academy, the Piper Education Center, and Implant Educators. I have been recognized as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and co-authored a chapter with Dr. Peter E. Dawson in the textbook The Dental Reference Manual. My dentistry has even followed me on vacations where I volunteered in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua to provide charity dental care in remote villages that had little to no access to healthcare. I am excited about being home in Jacksonville, and I am thankful for the opportunity to work with Dr. Mullens and our dental Team. I am eager to provide each and every one of my patients with gentle and exceptional dental care.
