About Fesaha Gebrehiwot, DDS
Dr. G is like no one you have met before! He started from very humble beginnings, having been born and raised in a small, mountainous village in Eritrea, East Africa. He is one of nine children, and the village where he grew up lacked basic access to clean drinking water, schools, and healthcare facilities. After East Africa was hit by severe drought back in the 80s, his late father instilled in him from a very young age that education was the only ticket out of the uncertain farming lifestyle and having to be dependent on a rainy season to feed your family. As a result, Dr. G traveled 10-12 miles daily to the closest school available. Additionally, he and his siblings walked 2-3 miles daily to fetch drinking water. He got a lucky break when he won a Diversity Visa Lottery to come to the United States. When he arrived, life was very challenging in all sorts of different ways, from learning to speak English to understanding what foods to eat and so on. He spent the first few years juggling time between work and school, eventually graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University. After graduation, he worked for Motorola/FreeScale Semiconductor as a Product Engineer for a few years. Today, Dr. G has been practicing dentistry for over six years, and his unique outlook regarding patient-focused care and empathy will be sure to exceed your expectations from the very first consultation. He enjoys treating people from all walks of life, including children, and his candid, authentic nature and outgoing personality will be a great fit for your family. When Dr. G first started working for Motorola/FreeScale, he was provided with dental benefits and was able to visit a dentist’s office for the very first time in his life at the age of 25! This appointment was overwhelming because he discovered how much he didn’t know about his very own smile. This experience, as well as his own childhood experiences in his village, led him to want to pursue a career in dentistry. Today, he is honored to be able to touch so many people’s lives through his work, from young children to senior citizens. Dr. G pursued his doctorate at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle, Washington. Dentistry is his true calling and passion. He is a lifelong learner and spends hundreds of hours in continuing education courses to learn about the latest and greatest developments in the field. Dr. G is honored to be the father of the sweetest little 5-year-old girl, EriBella. Dr. G’s hobbies include fitness, hiking, golf, bowling, and pool. He is also a big food lover and enjoys traditional Eritrean cooking in particular. He regularly listens to podcasts too! Some of his favorites are How I Built This by Guy Raz, Dentistry Uncensored, The Relentless Dentist, and The Passionate Dentist. He also loves to read good books, especially in the genre of personal growth, business, the stock market, and autobiographies.
