About Elena Gutu, DMD
Dr. Gutu grew up in Moldova, a small country between Ukraine and Romania known for its temperate climate and well-established wine industry. She graduated in 1999 from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. In 2005, Dr. Gutu earned her DMD from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and began work as a general dentist. She married her husband Steve in 2012 and they had their daughter Anya in 2015. Dr. Gutu opened St. Pete Modern Dentistry in 2016 to provide excellent dental care for patients in the greater St. Petersburg area. In 2018, Dr. Gutu received the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). In order to receive this award, Dr. Gutu completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive written exam and fulfilled three years of continuing membership with the AGD. The Fellowship Award symbolizes excellence in the dental profession and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. Over the years, Dr. Gutu has had the opportunity to work in varied settings as a dentist, including volunteer work at dental clinics and international trips to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. She has gained significant experience with different aspects of dentistry, including pediatrics, oral surgery, root canal treatments, implant placements and the use of soft and hard tissues lasers. Dr. Gutu proudly stands behind her work and will do all she can to deliver a gentle, friendly and relaxing dental experience.
