About David Knopf, DMD
Dr. David Knopf was raised in New Haven, Connecticut. He received both his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, being awarded a D.M.D. in 1973. Dr. Knopf spent 7 years on active duty in the U.S. Army Dental Corps completing both a 1 year general dentistry residency and a Master’s of Education awarded by the University of Southern California. Upon completion of active duty, Dr. Knopf continued as a reserve officer and the commander of a 60 man reserve dental unit retiring in 1996 as a Ltc. Dr. Knopf established this dental practice in 1979 with Dr. Mark Ballinger, with whom he served in the Army Dental Corps. He has provided comprehensive general dental care in this community since that time. His continuing efforts in dental education have added layers of complexity and additional skills in all areas, including cosmetic dentistry and endodontics. Dr. Knopf has served on the peer review committee for the Baltimore County Dental Association and has adjudicated cases brought before the Maryland Sate Dental Association. He is active in the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
