About Craig A. Mabrito, DDS
Dr. Craig Mabrito practices comprehensive dentistry with special interests in cosmetic procedures, implant restorations, and full mouth reconstruction. Since the start of his private Houston practice in 1977, Dr. Mabrito’s philosophy has been to stay current with all innovations in the cosmetic dentistry field, focusing on his specific areas of expertise, to improve the health and well-being of patients. This philosophy has helped him become a master artist of cosmetic dentistry with the talent of effectively blending the aspects of functionality, technology, aesthetics, and health. Developing relationships with each patient remains an important goal for Dr. Mabrito. Our dentist strives to understand each patient’s goals with regards to their health, provide all of the alternatives to achieve those goals, act as their advocate to help them make the best decision, then execute the plan with the highest level of skill, care, and judgment every day that he treats patients. Dr. Mabrito is known as an innovator in cosmetic dentistry due to his mastery of several procedures and techniques well before they were common practice. Dr. Mabrito developed the concept of in-office bleaching that is commonly used today. Dr. Mabrito practiced inlay and onlay procedures before this method became popular and utilizes the half crown for increased tooth preservation. Dr. Mabrito also holds a patent for ClearMatch® Shade Analyzing Software, a tooth shade analysis system, and was involved in the early development of veneers. Known as an author and lecturer, Dr. Mabrito educates the public and fellow colleagues about new technologies, practices, and improvements in cosmetic dentistry. He has lectured internationally and authored papers on esthetic, restorative, and reconstructive dentistry. He has co-founded a publication that is read worldwide in the field of esthetic restorative dentistry and authored the first article. Dr. Mabrito received his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston in 1973. He then served as a clinical dentist in the United States Air Force prior to beginning his private practice in Houston. He taught at the University of Colorado and University of Texas Dental Schools. Dr. Mabrito continues his education monthly through study clubs and online. Dr. Mabrito has continuously been recognized throughout the course of his career by the community and dental organizations.
