About Ariel Rodriguez
Dr. Ariel Julian Rodriguez was born in Havana, Cuba in 1976. His family immigrated to the United States in 1980 and he was raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Brown University in 1998 with honors in Human Biology, with a theme in Race and Gender. In 2002, he graduated from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Over the last ten years, he has worked in both public health and private practice. He’s inspired by the possibility of giving back to the world, or at least, to the communities that are nearest. At the same time, he’s inspired by creating a workplace that gives back to people in unique and unexpected ways. Drawn to the glamour and style of southern California, he realized that something about Los Angeles spoke to him and said: here’s the place to dream big. So he started designing a practice that is an offering and homage to the alliance of art, nature, and material science that is dentistry. His inspiration is born of a love for beautiful and pragmatic things. Heroes of his, Ray and Charles Eames, designed and inspired an era in which beauty could be found in technology. Much the way that Charles and Ray Eames created chairs that defined the art of sitting, Dr. Rodriguez strives to provide something that informs the art of smiling.
