About Anna Gute, DMD
With nearly a full decade of experience in the dental field so far, Dr. Gute is thrilled to be joining Dr. Shelton’s amazing team and providing smile-inspiring treatment to the patients of Carlsbad! She loves that dentistry focuses more on the tinier details that can impact not only your oral health, but your quality of life in big ways. She chose this career path because she wanted to focus on improving both wellbeing and beauty for those in need. Dr. Gute originally graduated from the Rigas Stradins University in Latvia with her initial dental degree. She practiced in Latvia for a time (mostly focused on special needs patients) and also served as a Professor’s Assistant in the department of Oral Pathology at Riga Stradins. In 2016, she enrolled in the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC’s program for international dentists, where she gained valuable training that enabled her to practice in the United States. She is also a proud member of the SPEAR Education Study Club, which is world-renowned for providing outstanding continuing education in oral healthcare. She regularly attends dedicated seminars and intensive workshops to further advance her clinical skills. Outside of work, Dr. Gute spends lots of quality time with her family of five, which incudes her husband, her mother, her son, and their cat Masha, who was adopted from a local shelter. Her favorite hobbies include swimming, hiking, riding bicycles, traveling, and ANYTHING to do with Game of Thrones. She also has a black belt in karate! Her favorite guilty pleasure is ice cream, and her #1 quote is “Vita brevis, ars longa,” which is Latin for “life is short, art is endless.” If she could have any superpower, she’d love to be able to easily travel through time and space to visit her favorite places, like Japan, Singapore, and Maldives!
