About Yolani P. Edirisinghe, DMD
Dr. Edirisinghe joined Dr. Sokolowski’s practice in April 2009. She received her D.M.D. degree in 2003 from Tufts School of Dental Medicine, Boston. Born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka, she received her initial dental degree from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka, where she was honored by the Pfizer Scholarship for being first in her class in the second year preclinical courses. At Tufts she was also recognized as a High Clinical Achievement Recipient, a recognition given for high clinical performance in a demanding curriculum. When Dr. Edirisinghe initially arrived in the United States she worked as a research assistant at Yale University, Department of Cardiology. In Sri Lanka she also pursued studies in Child Psychology and Child Development and worked as an assistant speech pathologist before she joined dental school. A member of the American Dental Association and Connecticut State Dental Association, Dr. Edirisinghe regularly attends lectures endorsed by these associations.
