About Tony T. Nguyen, MD

Dr. Nguyen grew up in Oklahoma and is a true Sooner, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology-Biomedical Sciences at the University of Oklahoma before obtaining his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Nguyen completed his internship in Internal Medicine in Tulsa before eventually ending up in Kansas City where he finished his dermatology training at the University of Kansas. Seeking warmer weather, Dr. Nguyen made his way to Houston, where he joined the Dermatology department at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth and MD Anderson Cancer Center in the role of Assistant Professor. During his time in the department, he served as Medical Student Director and earned high praise for teaching, receiving the Dean's Teaching Excellence Award in 2018. Dr. Nguyen practices general and medical dermatology, as well as surgery, with particular interests in acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, immunobullous (blistering) diseases, psoriasis, and skin cancer prevention. In his free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Loan Nguyen, a pediatric hospitalist, whether it be traveling together, trying new foods, or playing with their Westies Stitch and Scout. Dr. Nguyen is a board certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He holds membership in the Houston Dermatological Society, Harris County Medical Society, Texas Dermatological Society, Texas Medical Association, and American Medical Association.
