About Sandra C. Paek, MD
I grew up in New York City and still go back to visit my parents and my sister. I graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in biology and received my medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. I completed both my dermatology and Mohs surgery training at the University of Michigan. I stayed on as faculty at the University of Michigan and was heavily involved in training young dermatologists. I joined Kaiser Permanente as a Mohs surgeon in 2006 and am proud to work in an environment where patients come first. My particular interest is skin cancer. I believe in educating my patients about skin cancer and offer various surgical and non-surgical treatments tailored to your specific needs. The bulk of my practice consists of performing Mohs surgery to excise skin cancer and then performing reconstructive surgery to restore your appearance. However, I am aware that surgery is not the best option for everyone and can offer alternate options. I also have wonderful colleagues in other departments who can offer other treatments and/or reconstructive options for more advanced skin cancers. I believe in caring for my patients as I would a family member. That means taking the time to explain your condition, offering the best surgical (or non-surgical) treatments and helping make the right decision for you. Being diagnosed with any type of cancer and having to undergo surgery can be stressful. My goal is to provide the best care possible with a warm and reassuring manner.
