About Robert W. Burk, MD
A Parkersburg, West VA native, Dr. Robert W. Burk III, is a Northeast Florida board-certified plastic surgeon who offers various cosmetic and reconstructive surgery procedures. With true intellectual curiosity, Dr. Burk has traveled around the country and the globe to numerous conferences to increase his knowledge and add to his repertoire. Dr. Burk believes in staying up-to-date on the latest medical breakthroughs so he can deliver stunning results with the safest, most advanced surgical techniques available to his patients. Above all, Dr. Burk is focused on his patients’ well-being and satisfaction by helping them attain the results they desire and deserve with his skilled hands, keen eye, and sharp mind. Extensively trained in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, Dr. Burk offers a variety of procedures to his patients. However, he places an emphasis on endoscopic and aesthetic plastic surgery to help transform and enhance his beloved patients safely and reliably. Dr. Burk attended the University of Virginia where he graduated with highest distinction. At the prestigious Duke University, Dr. Burk earned his medical degree. From there, he attended the University of Florida in Gainesville where he completed his 5-year General Surgery training program. Under the guidance of Dr. Luis Vasconez, a leading plastic surgeon, Dr. Burk completed a 2-year Aesthetic and Endoscopic Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Dr. Burk has been board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1997. Throughout his career, Dr. Burk has given numerous lectures and published a variety of scientific articles on various plastic surgery topics. While at the University of Virginia, Dr. Burk was inducted into the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest honor society for the liberal arts and sciences. In addition, during his chief year in his 5-year surgical program, Dr. Burk was chosen as the Outstanding Teaching Resident.
