About Robert Allen, DDS
Dr. Allen is originally from Northern Utah but made it here as soon as he could! He attended Creighton University School of Dentistry and graduated in 2000. He served a 2-year mission for his church in Argentina and fell in love with the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. He loves to volunteer and has spent time doing dentistry and building houses in Guatemala and recently took his wife and kids to work with refugee children in Costa Rica. He likes to hike and camp. Once a week he serves as an assistant scoutmaster for BSA scouts and loves teaching the scouts leadership and survival skills. Dr. Allen cares about the foundation of your teeth. He sees many people with Periodontal disease and works hard to try to help stabilize their condition and keep as many teeth as possible. Many people don’t realize they have Periodontal disease because often it doesn’t hurt. It slowly advances until teeth become loose and many patients lose their teeth and need full or partial dentures. He is skilled in many aspects of dentistry like extractions, root canals, implants, dentures and cosmetic dentistry. If there was one thing that Dr. Allen could share with teenagers about their teeth is how bad soda, energy drinks and other sugary diets can really set them back in their dental health. Many don’t realize the damage they are doing and set themselves up for a future of bad teeth. For his adults, he wishes that he could urge them to come in as soon as they notice a problem. Many times, patients will say that they “lost a filling” several weeks or months ago and it didn’t hurt so they didn’t come in. When it finally starts to hurt, it is usually a bigger problem and we may need to extract the tooth.
