About Neil L. Starr, DDS
He is married to Lily and they have three children, Sam, Josh and Ilanna. Dr. Starr loves, loves, loves dentistry. He loves treating his patients’ dental needs, restoring their teeth and smiles. In fact, little else gives him as much pleasure. When he is out with his family, others may ask him personal dental questions, (knowing he is a dentist). After maybe five or ten minutes of discussion, they may turn to his wife and apologize for taking up so much of his personal time. To this his wife Lily will quickly reply, ""Not a problem at all. In fact, he so loves what he does-you just made his day"" Neil was born in Montreal, Canada. He received his D.D.S. degree from McGill University in Montreal and Certificates in Periodontics and Periodontal Prosthetics from the University of Pennsylvania. He was an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Postdoctoral Periodontics and Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine for 20 years. Dr. Starr enjoys a private practice in Prosthodontics, in Washington, D.C. He has been lecturing nationally and internationally to groups of surgeons and restorative dentists. He has authored a series of articles on treatment planning and sequencing therapy for patients requiring comprehensive treatment. The articles appear in The Seattle Study Club Journal, The Alpha Omegan, The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry, and The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Starr was awarded the prestigious Dr. Saul Schluger Award for Clinical Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning by the Seattle Study Club.
